i'm currently playing Trauma Center: Second Opinion and lots of Wii Sports, on my roomie's Nintendo. I've also been enjoying some of the old Nintendo games that I don't hae a console for (Mario World, Mario64, Kart, original Zelda, Contra III). But I've been playing alot less than when we first got the Wii in the apartment, damn that thing is fun.

and my roomie has never played Zelda: Link to the Past, so I'm coaching him through it (he sucks balls, it's actually sorta funny to watch).

Humans are different from animals. We must die for a reason. Now is the time for us to regulate ourselves and reclaim our dignity. The one who holds endless potential and displays his strength and kindness to the world. Only mankind has God, a power that allows us to go above and beyond what we are now, a God that we call "possibility".

Playing metal gear solid 3 and fight night round 3 on it at the moment. Just finished God of war and final fantasy x. Awaiting Okami and final fantasy 12 to arrive here :x

With that amount you can do two 2 hit and one 3 hit. That will net you something around 150 - 200 damage (I have pumped up my characters with dragoons gauntlets/honors). This is at the point I'm playing now. I just finished the dead sea part. And your best elemental (which is free fall for me) against an opposing color will do maybe 150 - 250. But then you will have to watch an annoying animation which takes like 30 seconds. In that time you could have finished the fight. That's just one spell at the top of the grid. So you can do without it.

Elements are only useful against bosses, but even then you gain more from doing status attacks so your physical attacks get better.

Who in their right mind could play this game three times?

Chrono Trigger is on the SNES, and it's one of the best games I've ever played.

The plots aren't really connected, except that they both contain time travel.

I'm gonna try to finish the game though. I have a compulsion for these things. I can't leave a game unfinished. The only games that I have not finished are Final Fantasy X-2 and Dragon's Quest VIII. And those were beacause the combat system sucked. So maybe Chrono Cross isn't so high on the list anyway.
Something that helps the second/third/etc times through go faster ...

In their newgame+, there's the option to hold I think it's r2 to speed up time (ie: move >2x faster, etc). I seem to remember my first time through taking about 20-25 hours, and the second time through taking 4 or so.

Still, your criticisms are quite valid. The field system is only even remotely interesting on bosses, and then not particularly interesting until about halfway through the game. The final battle is just ... weird. The story is sort of insane, too.

There's 2 things about that game that are particularly memorable though: the music (Mitsuda can do no wrong) and the cutscenes. The gameplay was really pretty weak.

Been playing Dota for almost a year now, a little now and then. Have had my periods with non stop Dota, it's alot of fun to play with friends and real matches.

Have you played Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King?
Havent gotten my hands on it yet but have played it at a friend a few times, will have to borrow it once he finishes it. Seems like a great RPG he's been playing it for more then 80 hours now, it has gotten high scores but havent reached that many players atleast not here.

I agree about Chrono Cross being a boring game. There's almost no variations in the fight. It's just Attack -> Attack -> Element, move to next character, and repeat. Plus, the story wasn't really that intriguing. I stopped playing the game shortly after the 2nd disc.

The only game I'm playing these days is Advance Wars: Dual Strike for the Nintendo DS. That game is a hell of a lot of fun, just like the previous versions. It's a war tactical game where you build units and try to either wipe out the enemy or capture their headquarters. What makes the game unique is that choosing your commanding officer determines how your units will be affected. For example, there is a CO who specializes in ground vehicle troops, but is weak with air and sea units. Another CO has better than average firepower and defense, but his units cost more. Plus, each CO has a super meter where they can get increased stats for their units or whatever. I highly recommend this game to tactical gamers.

Try it, but don't buy it. As I said, it's one of the few games that I haven't played all the way through. The fight are boring and the random encounters are particurarly annoying in this game. The character progression is uninspired. You have like five stats that you can raise each level up, and only one of them are useful for each character.

I haven't played that many RPGs on the ps2, but I very much enjoyed FFX and Star Ocean 3.

I think I am kinda glad that i chose to play Chrono Cross first. I mean, i had a blast playing it. I guess its because it was the first time i've played a game of this type so I'm safe and content in my ignorance.

The only fight that was even remotely troubling was the one with Miguel. The rest were pretty easy so i just kept trying my new elements to see their animation (Holy Light and Ultranova were pretty sweet-looking). After that, I only used Inferno seeing that it had the quickest animation.

Since you all think so little of the game, I will have to play it and enjoy it thoroughly before I advance to a game that would probably make me never want to play Chrono Cross ever again. I'll probably watch a few of the different endings and try out the combo techs as well as playing with different characters. I'm sure that the game will get a lot more interesting when I am playing with sh*tty characters invariably making the game harder. Btw, heres a site for all the diff. endings <http://www.rpgclassics.com/shrines/psx/cc/endings.shtml>

btw, you have 3 characters. If you use up 7 stam on the first dude (phys. only) you would have full stam by the time you finished the 2nd characters phys attacks. He would then have 7 fully wasted stam. turns. However, if you do 6 phys + 1 element (13 stam) your stamina would be regenerated by the end of the 3rd characters turn (depending on your stamina rating)...i think this is right. I don't remember using more than 1 full turn very often so i'm kinda hazy on it.

**Spoiler** (how do i hide this until you click on it?)Also make sure you fight the Chrisophinx (Earth Dragon Isle where the orig. Dragon was) to find out the order in which you have to use your elements in the final fight. (riddle answer = element to be used on him...(block first round)).

I'm currently playing Chrono Trigger with a dance mat, not particularly difficult except when trying to run.

This sig was made by KitKat.

Nice! I tried to play Tekken for a bit with a dance mat, but it didn't work too well. I guess it would be a bit simpler playing an RPG with a mat.

Currently, we (meaning my housemate, not really me) picked up Warioware: Smooth Moves for the Wii. So fun. I love it. Not really an in-depth game, but a great party game and wonderful use of the capabilities of the controller.

I've been dancing around with Smooth Moves lately. In between dancing kitties and dancing doggies, I'm liking it - not depth at all, but fun to play, and fun to watch the faces my dad makes every time I unlock a door to reveal some moe bizarre artwork.

Really, that game is trippy. I just wish my friends weren't so stupidly self-concious and would play with me. Half of the fun of this game is looking silly, but it's not so great alone.

In other news, Kid Icarus is now up for download in the Virtual Console - I've heard SO much about it, I'll download it as soon as I get some more Wii points... any comments on this game? What to expect, what not to? Are eggplants involved in any way?

Been playing some ESF, LOTR: Return of the witchking and WoW. I'm kinda bored of them. Thinking about getting FF XII.

Ghost Rider atm, but ill soon return to Rogue Galaxy.
Ghost Rider is a really solid game, with gameplay reminding of god of war, with the overall feel of devil may cry 1, plus Blade is a playable character ( although not as fleshed out as Ghosty), plus the Hell Cycle levels are pretty fun, kinda like the chariot levels in PoPt2t.

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. I hadn't played this before because I wasn't really interested in the series... but when nearly two of my good friends talk about it incessantly, I decided to pick up the first one so I would know what the hell they were talking about. The first game was good, but I like how this one is even more convoluted (so far anyway) . Aside from the fact that I'm getting trippy codec calls at this point in the game, it's definitely worth the play (if you haven't gotten to it already!)

Right now i'm playing 5 no 6 game .hack the second, FFXI, FFXII, Shadow the Hedgehog (all ps2), then on the comp i'm playing star trek legacy, still trying to beat starcraft (without codes)

its hard to keep all the story lines straight
