That bug is real and biological. Doctors have supposedly operated on them and they contain Dio's cells, so I think it's more of a vampire ability just like how his head had tentacles and stuff before. I do agree that his power is stronger and perhaps a combination of all the Joestars though. For one, he can take spirit photos without breaking his camera (I'd argue that to mean better control over his ability).

As for the genetic thing, another way to think about it is that all the "vine" Stands are all primarily connected to Dio/Jonathan's link while Jotaro's could be one that manifested from his own powers. Indirectly you could say that he inherited his powers from his father (or at the very least the genetic material), so that's correct too.

Dio's stand is apparently stronger than Joseph's or Holly's, since he can make those brain bud things (presumably, those are plants).

I just assumed that was one of his vampire powers. Especially since it looked like he made them physically from his hair.

My assumption is that he has vampire powers from his head, and then Ripple/Stand powers from Jonathan's body.

Hmm, well if they're going by Tarot card names, then Dio's could be:

Most likely: The Devil, Death (Death was the first to come to my mind, but it's hard to say.. especially now that he's in Jonathan's body)
Could also be: The Moon, The Emperor

If he is only inheriting Jonathan's latent Stand, then it opens up the possibility of: The Sun, Justice, Strength.

Holly's would be Temperance, if it ever got named.

Well, I suppose "The ruler of all stands" is a pretty big clue, even if I ended up finding out through other means anyway. Something AoE like Emerald Splash should have put plenty of holes into the aircraft anyway, but whatever. Hot cola is as weird as it sounds. It's not undrinkable, but it's not something I would choose to drink. I don't think it's even that common.

Emerald splash is a projection of life energy onto your opponent so it's possible it doesn't actually affect the physical realm. Even if it does it's silly to try to make full sense of what's basically magic.

I was a little more bothered by the fact they didn't just use a private jet, we have even already seen the company owned one when Speedwagon was the CEO so i don't see why Joseph couldn't arrange for one to come to Hong Kong as well.
