A television anime adaptation of Hirohiko Araki's JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 4: Diamond Is Unbreakable (JoJo no Kimyō na Bōken: Diamond wa Kudakenai) manga has been green-lit. The announcement was made at the end of "The Last Crusaders" event for the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders anime in Tokyo on Saturday. The cast, broadcast dates, and other details have yet to be announced.

Part 4 of the manga is set in S City in M Prefecture of Japan, and the story follow the misadventures of Jōsuke Higashikata and his companions.

The JoJo's Bizarre Adventure television anime aired from October to April 2012, and covered the first two parts of the manga. The manga's Part 3 inspired another television anime project from April to September 2014, and from January to June 2015.

Well, I'm certainly going to keep watching, because I'm already invested. But if Stardust Crusaders was the arc everyone said was the best one, I'm not going to get my hopes up too high.

On the other hand, if people think that was the best one, it is possible that the next arcs are more similar to the first two and thus not as "great."

Eh, I doubt it. I feel like the show isn't as good since they introduced "Stands" and I know characters use Stands for the rest of the series.

Did the art get even cheaper? It´s one thing to go for a certain style, but the simple coloring and lack of animation is really cheapening the overall impression. I cannot remember the beginning of this series to be that bad.

The episode´s contents were fine, though. I love the casual depiction of a villain who murders and rapes and has fun all the while. You don´t usually get to see it that clearly, only subtly hinting at such stuff. But here we got at least two scenes where he´s raping, and one post-rape victim in the present story. That´s fresh.

Obviously, we need to find out the limitations of Josuke´s ability. Surely, there has to be some sort of time limit, otherwise he could bring back the dead. I guess it´ll be something like 5 minutes at most, where he can return injuries to intact properties.

Two major points of criticism:

1.) WTF is going on with Jotaro´s hat?! It looks like it´s half-fused into his hair. PLEASE let there be a logical explanation for that. Please. God, it looks so dumb.

2.) It might be nice and advantageous strategically speaking, but no matter if you return that lady´s stomach back to normal, SHE WILL HAVE FELT THE PAIN! Fucking lol. Skewering her body with full force, that gotta hurt enough to drive you insane. Josuke migh THINK he´s a hero, but he´s actually an asshole, using his power like that. Same with the turtle, he should have saved it before it got painfully hurt. This reminds me of Ajin (I´m at episode 8), where it also is treated way to lightly how, despite being immortal, these characters still feel the pain. It doesn´t matter if you´re healed afterwards, having all your teeth smashed by a brute drill is going to hurt you beyond your believes. And I wonder if Ajin feels less pain. Though nothing points in that direction as of now. As for Josuke, it´s not even him who feels the pain - thus making this an asshole-power.

Agreed about the art. it immediately looked lower grade, but to be fair the first three seasons looked very distinct. Like that Jotaro is back so this 4th gen jojo can get some guidance, as he is easily the most submissive, least heroic jojo so far.

Anyway, you guys don't seem to be talking about this season very much so far. It's definitely an odd departure from previous seasons. But, it seems like it might try and explain some things that Season 3 never bothered to, like where the fuck Stands come from.

That seems to be the case over the last 4 seasons.

Yeah, but Ripple was explained within an episode or 2 of it's introduction.

We're an entire story arc beyond the introduction of Stands and it still hasn't been explained what they are or where they came from.

Just watched the new episode. I´m already enjoying this much more than last season. We´re back to a continuous story, not the "one bad guy per episode" lameness. Feels like the first two seasons <3

But I have to mention it: Bad Company was already shooting when Josuke did his counterattack. Even accepting that his repaired missiles are faster than the bullets of Bad Company, what happened to the bullets already in mid-air? I´d like to say "well, they vanished when their user got k.o.-ed, BUT then the broken missiles also would have disappeared after being used, but they´re clearly somewhat independent from the user.
It´s not all-ruining, but it was silly, like when Sasuke escaped Deidara´s on-going explosion.

Okay, Origins of the Ripple / Stand.

I never really needed an "origin" for Ripple because it just seemed like your basic Chi counterpart to me. When an anime tells me that it's setting has Ki/Chakra/Nen/Reiatsu/Haki, I simply accept it as a given.

Stands however are far more complicated, and rather than something that's simply always seemed to exist, is something that very much appeared suddenly within the world between story arcs.
