    Afaik, the renaming was part of the WG's attempt at downplaying the fruit, since if they can't have it, at least they can make it seem like a pointless power to seek.

    Both Katakuri and Doflamingo awakened paramecia-type devil fruits. The main commonality is the ability to manipulate the surrounding environment into a material resembling their powers. Kinda like how Luffy can turn the rocky terrain into rubber, they were turning theirs into mochi and string. The plot twist of Luffy's fruit being a human-human ancient deity type fruit, however, makes his more comparable to Sengoku's Buddha fruit.

    Agreed. Flashbacks are the blurry crack through which I can take in the delicious world building of One Piece. No gambits or clever tactics; just big fist beats big dragon... Oh well, at least the battles are over and we can move onto clean up.

    That glimpse of their not dissolved bodies got my hopes up, but it seems like they're dead.

    Interesting that Momo is directly contradicting Oden's desire to 'open up' Wano. I get why, to focus on restoration efforts and maybe do it later, but to voice it specifically makes it a 'thing' we have to pay attention to.

    Blackbeard has been an Emperor since the timeskip. He took Whitebeard's spot.

    I think it's going to be Law and Kid. I think Luffy is going to take Shank's spot, eventually.

    I know Admirals are super badasses, but I can't imagine one all on it's own is a real threat to the entire Alliance at this point. A group that took out Kaido, Big Mom and all their minions at once should be able to handle one Admiral.


    I just realized Smoothie got shortchanged. She's the only one of the 3 Sweet Generals that didn't get to have a big showdown with anyone. Even though she was in this battle.
