    Damn right.

Askeladd losing his only friend and loyal backing plus showing that he's lost his near-perfect technique all in one scene.

Thorfinn picked one bad day to duel.

    If it's not Isuzu-chan Mii~

I'm always surprised by how much time has actually passed in this series. Like I get Thorfinn has gotten older, but apparently it's been almost a decade now. Alotta, like, year-long timeskips between episodes.

And Thorfinn is like, the exact same shitty kid he's been since year two...

I'm sure for a minute there MFauli was getting ready with some "told ya so"s, until they revealed the Prince(ess) was a double.

    Episode 22:

    I need more episodes!

Askeladd is probably the most fun character I've seen in a while.
    It's getting really intense.

This show taught me that Artorius is an old timey way to say Arthur.

So now I think Artorius of the Abyss in Dark Souls is a Ghosts 'N Goblins reference.

I thoroughly enjoyed this. And the fact that the last episode was called End of Prologue...that has me excited as hell for season 2.

No idea who that guy with the short orange hair at the end is supposed to be.

Amazing episode. I remember when the manga reached this part, and I thought "woah, this was all just the prologue?"

Also, It's confirmed that Season 2 won't start in 2020, so it'll probably be the end of 2021 or 2022 til we get an animated continuation.

Pretty sure most of those clips at the end were alluding to future arcs.

Ah, the good ol' AoT strategy: Wait so long for the continuation that people have moved on and don't care much when it eventually airs again.

Many series of old had sequels years apart. Apparently it helps with pacing and burnout of animation staff so that's fine. I've never encountered a sequel where I then thought "It's been too many years, not watching."

And because the result is no compromise in quality, when it finally finishes, it will a complete package free of blemishes, that will likely be an unqualified classic, forever.

Chihayafuru S3 sucks. I don't know if it's because the manga got shit, too, or because the anime ruined it. But clearly there's no universal 'more time = no compromise'.

If you don't even know the source material, why do you use it as an example. It completely invalidates your statement.

    It's irrelevant to the issue?

Well obviously the thing being adapted maintaining it's quality is a prerequisite. Can't make good anime out of crappy manga.

    I'm looking at you, Bleach.

    No.

    What Darth said.
Otherwise it'd sound like the animation studios decide on what the story is about and what events are up next.

Never finished the first series, but I read most of the manga (years ago) and the story takes... an unexpected turn.

I've heard that events in the anime are starkly different from the Manga at the end of the first season, so I'd be curious to see how it gets adapted from here.
