"* Based on a sport shounen manga series by Musashino Hajime.

Yoigoshi Tatsuya was a star soccer player known as "Yoigoshi the Unstoppable," but when he entered high school, he severed all involvement with sports. Now, he has been invited to a certain sports team. In these matches, victory is achieved through teammates working together to catch and defeat the opponents invading their territory... You could call it a sort of running combat sport. And the name of this game is...Kabaddi.

Well, shoot me in the head. I can't help myself but to enjoy these cookie cutter shounen sports shows. Granted, this isn't as pathetic as watching that sumo shounen from a couple years back, but fine art this is not. Kabbadi as a sport is pretty thin, but you can count on anime to make it appear so interesting when the real life equivalent, unscripted, will likely never be. At least the show itself knows it is a niche sport. Some decent gags and it is still in the 'exploratory' phase right now, but it is lighthearted and brisk, and the supporting cast gets a surprising amount of good screen time (thankfully, as the main character is a bit off-putting). Bald kid should be annoying, but putting Tatsuya in his place overrides that character archetype (and his waifu-to-be). If you've got the sickness like me, give it a try.
